Congratulations on your New Kitten
This will give you our recommended vaccine schedule for you new kitten.
These vaccines are recommended to keep your kitten safe as the mothers’ immunity decreases.
FVRCP – Also known as “Feline Distemper”, it is also Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia. This vaccine can be started as early as 8 weeks and is given every 3 – 4 weeks until 16 weeks of age. If the kitten is 12 weeks or older only 2 vaccines are required. This vaccine is boostered yearly, and recommended for all cats.
Rabies – Can be given as early as 12 weeks, but is normally given at 16 weeks of age. Rabies is given again at 1 year and then every 3 years. Washington State requires all cats be vaccinated for Rabies.
FeLV – (Feline Leukemia) Can be given at 12 weeks of age then boostered at 16 weeks. This vaccine is recommended for all indoor/outdoor cats or cats that will be exposed to FeLV positive cats. It is recommended but not required that FeLV testing prior to vaccination.
